Noura Howell is a PhD candidate in the School of Information at UC Berkeley as well as a member of the BioSENSE lab. Her work combines color-changing fabrics in clothing with biosignals display in social contexts. More broadly, she is interested in the areas of materiality of information representation, designing affective systems, and intimacy and HCI. Formerly, Howell worked on web development, human centered design, and hardware prototyping for creative tools and/or sustainable development at Intel Labs, the MIT Media Lab, The Echo Nest, and with various organizations in Bali, Morocco, Singapore, and China.
