To mark the end of 2021 — and the start of 2022 — CLTC produced a short video featuring Ann Cleaveland, CLTC’s Executive Director, focused on the importance of future-focused research at the intersection of technology, people, and policy. At CLTC, we celebrate the cultural dimensions of cybersecurity, lifting up work that brings cybersecurity to life — including through thought-provoking projects like our Cybersecurity Arts Contest or the card game, Adversary Personas.
What’s planned for 2022? This year, you’ll find us:
- Crafting new ways to measure and address global structural risks to the internet, through our Internet Atlas project;
- Working with policymakers in California, the U.S. and the world to support trustworthy development and deployment of AI systems;
- Engaging industry and academic leaders to understand ground-level responses to privacy legislation, improve board oversight of cybersecurity, and develop new frameworks that incentivize responsible management of data lifecycles;
- Researching the impacts of always-on IoT and surveillance devices in communities of color; and
- Launching a National Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics, including CLTC’s trailblazing Citizen Clinic program (and online Cybersecurity Education Center) as a founding member.
None of the above could happen without our community of supporters like you, who appreciate the importance and urgency of our mission – to anticipate and address tomorrow’s cybersecurity challenges in order to amplify the upside of the digital revolution. Thank you!
