Post-Mortem 2020: Looking Back on CLTC’s Scenarios from 2020
In 2015, CLTC developed a set of scenarios depicting various “cybersecurity futures” for the year 2020. As the year 2020 has arrived, Professor Steve Weber, Faculty Director for CLTC, wrote a post on the CLTC Bulletin assessing those scenarios, including what we foresaw — and what we didn’t.
Asian Cybersecurity Futures
Authored by Jonathan Reiber, Visiting Scholar at CLTC and former Chief Strategy Officer for Cyber Policy in the Office of the U.S. Secretary of Defense, and Arun Mohan Sukumar, head of the Technology, Society, and Security Program at the Observer Research Foundation in New Delhi, the study focuses on how technological growth could place populations at risk in cyberspace, and explores the nexus of nationalism and cyberspace operations in one of the world’s most dynamic economic regions.
Cybersecurity Futures 2020
“Cybersecurity Futures 2020" is a set of five scenarios released by the UC Berkeley Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity on April 28, 2016. The purpose of the scenarios, which focus on emerging areas like biosensed data, data markets, predictive algorithms, and other domains, is to help identify emerging areas of interest for researchers at UC Berkeley and beyond.
